Namaste, Greetings to everyone!
This is my third attempt at blogging and hopefully will be an ongoing one. It has been a good 5 years since I started developing websites as a hobby and many of you who know me might be surprised about me using wordpress.com to host the blog. There are a couple of reasons for that which I will explain later.
Well, first things first. The reason behind me revamping and restarting this blog is to share my experiences while I chase the dream of my life – Travel Blogging. Although, the dream was to travel the world as much as possible, my passion to develop websites has excited me to share this experience with the world.
I am Shreyas Aithal , a just out of college / nothing to do / wannabe hippie guy whose currently active dream is to backpack in Europe. I am a 21 year old Software Engineer like most of the people in my city of Manipal Bangalore are. I have a provisional job offer from a top MNC who hasn’t given a date of joining yet. So I plan to travel as much as possible till then.
While my only experience of going abroad is a 1.5 month internship I did in Odessa, Ukraine , the other students in the program who were from at least 8 different countries inspired me to take up this journey. Unlike other travel blogs which are generally published by Americans, British or Australians, most of the readers will get to read content from a completely different perspective on my blog. For example, it is really easy for an American to say ” This work pressure is killing me. Maybe its time for a break! ” and book a one way ticket to Italy or France and spend a couple of weeks without any worries.
One of the problems of being born in a country like India is that you are treated like sh*t everywhere! I mean even if the people are good with you, their governments are not. America has a visa free travel regime with most of the countries so does the UK. For us Indians in the contrary, the process of applying and getting a visa sometimes takes more time than the period of travel itself!
